Scientific Leadership with Intention

The scientific direction of SunnaFoods is led by Dr. Mouri R. J. Faruque, our Head of Science.

With a background in biomedical research and natural health sciences, her responsibility is to ensure that every SunnaFoods product meets the highest quality standards.

At SunnaFoods, we take health seriously because what you put into your body matters.

In Islam, this responsibility is called amanah, which means a trust. When someone chooses our products, they trust us with their health. That is why every SunnaFoods product is made with care, honesty, and clear halal standards.

Dr. Mouri R. J. Faruque

I completed my PhD in biomedical science, where my research focused on natural compounds and how they interact with the human body. A key part of my doctoral thesis studied mastic, a traditional natural resin, and examined its real biological effects using modern scientific methods.

This research shapes how we develop products at SunnaFoods today. We focus on purity, correct sourcing, halal integrity, and clear purpose in every formulation.

You can read my published research and doctoral work here to learn more about the science behind mastic and its studied effects on the body."

Every SunnaFoods product is independently lab tested by Dr. Markus Born.

Made in Germany, With High Standards

All SunnaFoods products are produced and tested in Germany.

Germany is known for strict quality rules and controlled production. This helps us keep our process clean, consistent, and transparent which is especially important for halal products.

Hidden Animal Ingredients in Essential Vitamins

Many supplements contain ingredients that do not sound animal-based, but often are.

Examples include:

  • Gelatin capsules (often made from non-halal beef or pork)
  • Certain amino acids (sometimes derived from animal hair, feathers, or non-halal sources)
  • Vitamin carriers and binders that may come from animal fat
  • Enzymes and probiotics grown on non-halal growth media

Without proper verification, these ingredients can easily make a product non-halal, even if the label looks “clean”.
